Leakage problem

Hi,

I recently recorded drums and we had a bit problem with getting good bassdrum sound. well I ended up using B52 aimed at beater side of the drum. the sound is great but I got a really loud leakage from snare bottom (obviously).

I want to get rid of it... I have tried gating, expanding and also phase reverse trick in order to get rid of the leakage. Canceling the phase of leakage got me the best results but the bassdrum seems to be still unnatural when listened with overheads etc. It has good resonance and I would like to have it but not the snare bottom.

Do you have ideas how I could make this happen?
