size and price?

Actually the Elite has some other extra features compared to the Elan.

Things like sweepable hi-pass filter, a couple of extra busses, seperate mic and line trim pots, much fancier routing options, and most important in the coolness factor: faders (instead of pots) for the monitor path.

that's cool, doesn't really affect my needs, so other than the hi pass the eq's are the same? and if all internal components are the same then they must sound the same, only differences are features. I have experience with an Elite and liked it, and am looking into getting an Elan (cheaper, smaller)

The Elite has a narrow/wide switch on the mid bands. I think you pull up on the knob to switch. I think that there are also tape trims on the Elite, like I wish my Elan had! The pres are the same. I believe the monitor faders on the Elite are sliders, not knobs like the Elan.

Elans sound great too!heh

You allso have a push/pull switch on the high band and the low band (peak or shelving) and wide/narrow on the mids. The Elite has less noise (nothing at all.....), and a bit more headroom. I got my Elite 32 ch + 8 ch stereo for only $10.000 in Scandinavia. Wery good shape! I also work a lot on SSL, but I think the Elite are a bit more "sweet" sounding. Not so "harsh". What do you guys out there think ???
