He ain't heeeavy ...... (aka. racking heavy units)

A quick question. After much umm-ing and aaah-ing, I've just bought an Avalon 737 and am wondering whether this rather heavy box of tricks will need to be supported in the rack. I suspect it will but I'm starting to think that some of the units down the bottom will start to suffer! Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Mike

"If something is really heavy, and you feel that it might need some extra support of the posterior, just use some little blocks of wood as shims." - That's what my wife has been saying for a while about my favourite chair!

heh

Thanks for the response. You're right - I need to think this one through.

Cheers,

Mike

I agree with Eric. Unless you have particularly flimsy racks, the 737 should be no problem supported only by it's front panel.

Thanks guys. I was more worried about my HD interface taking the strain as it seems a bit flimsy.

Have to say I'm still in the honeymoon period. I know there are better preamps ..... but the sound I'm getting now makes me grin

Cheers,

Mike
