API 512C & 525 vs. Avalon 737...

So i've been reading about peoples thoughts on the API's, and they seem pretty positive.

I basically need something to fatten up my synth sounds as well as having some sort of front end for vox.

Anyone A/B'd the two of them?

thanks

I think one of the guys here uses this Api combo.

I had an API 8 spacer once with these 2 in it(as well as 312's,550a,550b,560,554...ah those were the good old days).grudge

I wasn't too crazy about the API comp on vocals(reminded me to much of the DBX).tut

It was cool on electric guitars though.

The Api pre's sound really cool with Korg synths(nice, fast and bright). I like the Neve/CIB/9098/Vintech better for Rolands(makes them richer especially the newer synths).

The 737 is an excellent box. It is a useful tool in the studio.
