32 track PT LE?

Someone somewhere keeps refering to a future PT LE with a 32 track count ... I think he is on crack!

Anyone?

LE 32 track

Well in the current SOS mag there is a review of the MBox where there is mention of the frustrations of 24 track LE and a quote from Digi that there will be 'improvements' made to LE in the near future, so I'd say possibly he's not on crack, just an optimist I'd surmise... BTW whilst on the subject, seen lots of cracked software, but never one of any versions of PT!

Well now HD is 128 tracks, they will probably put it up to 32-48 tracks to try to push people of mix systems to HD so they still have an advantage.
Also they really have to compete with other native systems, cannot use the computers too slow reason for much longer.
I bet you after June 30 they wil start selling re-firbished Mix systems in between the price of Digi001 and HD1, to make it sticky for people. Anyone heard anymore about digi002??

I also think they will do another deal and I will re-gret getting the HD3 system on Monday. Lets see track record.
After I get Reverb One they do a deal with Focusrite pre.
After I get Control24 they give away a free ADAT bridge.
After Dave gets the HD3 and 192k and 2 free plugs, they will give half price upgrade to 192k or a free a/D or something and I will cry

I bet NOT! Out of the marketplace, that where digi wants second hand stuff.. Otherwise all the 'I bet I cant tell the difference' folks would snap em up and never go HD. IMHO

WHAT THE F%&&%! is that supposed to be? I need a first hand report on that rumor it's piss me off!

To the best of my knowledge there is an LE2 comming very soon.

It will have 32 tracks and should come in line with 5.3 so sessions should mave between TDM and LE much better.

Grey'd out plugs etc...

I hope it may be shipped with my new MBox or at least a free U/G.

I'll let you know when it arrives.

Well the digi002 rumor has been around for a while.
Heard maybe firewire connector.evileye

Yeah I know what you mean about cheap Mix, would kill some HD sales, If they put it in between price and then when all the only for HD stuff comes out people can do the small jumps. We also know full well there will be PT 6.0 for OSX and will have probably everything we ever wanted and be HD only.
Like being able to insert plugs on the fly, auto latency etc.

Get the HD tomorrow cool......Let you know

They don't even need 002 to kill high-end sales. I know a lot of people who understand how they use protools and have bought oo1's instead of TDM.

Agree .... too soon to start selling refurbished .... imho not before PT 6.0 and OS-X compatability .... and that's still a few months off I think.

I would love 32 tracks on LE. Then I wouldn't lose so many when I take sessions home to edit. Then that in turn would reduce the logistical nightmare at mix of trying to find the old session that had that little guitar thingy on the 29th audio track...

There was a lot of talk from people who should know that a 96k native system was likely to be released before the 192-capable high-end system. I'm sure that Apple's system X development running a year late probably altered the schedule considerably because it would make no financial sense to build a new system 9 native audio engine.

There you go .... ProTools LE 5.3.1 for Windows XP ..... 32 tracks Jules .....

but now you have to buy a PC ..... heh heh

It is a landmark in Digidesign history though .... first time PC users get something before MAC users get it. I think it is great that it is this way for a change ....

LOL good pre-Easter resurrection...

I was so happy to finally upgrade from PT 8 LE on Windows Vista to PT9 (no longer LE) on a 2011 MBP... and subsequently so sad to have to pay silly money for the upgrade to PT10 (so didn't). Still stuck on PT9! Decided against the Avid subscription model.

It's only mostly dead! I swear! Seriously though, I paid good money for some of those old plugins and I still really like the sound of some of my Kind of Loud
Realverb presets I made so I will sometimes port something over just to print that particular sound to a track. And for some reason, the 001 ins made for great direct boxes for bass. Jake from Digidesign told me they were designed by Focusrite to emulate the red range pres which I have no idea if true but they sure sounded good.

Oh man, I'll never forget how excited I was (in spring 03) to finally get a blue plastic Powermac G4 and a Digi 001.

I was decidedly less excited to fork over the $900 for Waves Gold.

Remember all the fiddling with extensions in OS9 to 'optimize' the system for pro tools? Sheesh...

I spent close to Β£5k in 2002 for a new 002 based PT rig, with dual boot os9/OS X on a g4. Bestvmoney I ever spent - spending all my free hours practicing PT set up my career in many ways!

I was using DP, but I had that G4 and dropped about the same for Waves Gold. I thought I had *THE ULTIMATE POWER* in my hands!!!

I moved up to the 002 rack after the 001. Ugh.. I do NOT miss the days of dual booting OS9/10 and the headaches of using the 1st OSX 'compatible' Pro Tools. What was that, V6?

And don't get me started on the switch to Intel chipsets....

I had 6, but I barely used it - by the time enough plugins were available to make it worthwhile, we were onto PT7.

I had the control surface - big step up from the 001. And yes the intel transition was fun, but I delayed it a couple of years.

I'm actually only on my 4th Mac in close to 16 years (I expect to have this one for a few years at least!).
