So how about the Yamaha DM2000 ?

I´ve got to play around with the new Yamaha DM2000 in my studio a couple of weeks ago. And kind of liked....(please don´t kill me yet)yuktyy
Works great as a Protools companion. I routed 48 channels through adat bridges to it.
I did a rock mix using only the DM2000 eq, dynamics and effects. And compared that to the Protools mix.
I think the stereo image was much greater, more like an analog desk. The mix was more dynamic. (did´nt sound like you where trying to squeeze 25 football players in a Wolkswagen Beetle).

The fact that you can use the DM2000 as "Procontroller" totally rocks btw....

Have any of you guys given this "digital, known as crap" console a fair real life chance??
Thoughts??

Just a question,

Were you using the new PTHD or last generation Mix system when making your comparison?

Reason I ask is I am just tottally in love with the easy of getting a great mix on my PTHD3.

For previous previous O2R owners it's probably a great thing.

All I can say is - folks with digital consoles working with PT LOVE the the fact that they dont have to rely on DSP card plug in power...

+ with 96k operation on PT being a massive drain on DSP card plug in power, this option would let you sail through high track count 96k sessions without the worry.

Interesting thread...
