Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO first time

Hello all, I've just wanted to share with you and ask something, so I've got today these headphones.

After reading tones of reviews i decide to go with those, I work for many years only with the ath-50m, So I unpack the package so excited to hear my mixing that was made with the ath-50m.

It's weird, but the first impression that I'm inside a closed room like a "boomy" sound, when the volume is low, but when I turn up the volume the sound starts to be a little more bright.

But the sound is not crisp like the ATH-50M.

Is it natural with these headphones? or maybe i need to get used to this?

closed vs open back headphones.
listen to some reference tracks / music that you know very well before you even start listening to your own stuff.

Whooooo Nice! sound awesome!!!

first time using open-back headphones,, sorry for the Excessive excitement!

Edit: too soon to celebrate...i was listening with my headphones while my HS80 was also on, so it sounds soooo crispy and clear...back to the starting point...still boomy with these headphones...

You just need to get used to the DT990s. Mine are far from boomy, though they do have a solid bass response. They are very shrill around 4-5kHz, however and I have largely quit using them. I need to get some DT880s, which are supposed to be much more neutral headphones.

i've heard a few pairs of DT-990's and most of them sound shrill or harsh.
i was lucky to get a rather balanced pair when i was shopping for headphones.
maybe really a hit and miss kinda thing.

Sonarworks

I'm thinking of buying this software to give me a flat response, anyone knows if this software can run in the background? or only works as a vst?

For me the DT990s are great, but they do feel really tight. They're only a couple of days old, so will they loosen up after awhile?
