ProAc Studio 100 & ProAc Studio 1 MKII. Are they the same?

Hi fellows.

I just bought a pair of ProAcs Studio 1 MKII as my fourth and last reference monitor set (Others are Genelec 8030+Genelec Sub, Yamaha NS-10, and Avantone Mix Cube).

They sound great! I read in a few internet threads that they are exactly the same Monitors (Same woofer and same tweeter) as the famous Studio 100’s. The only difference, according to what I read, might be that the 100s are bi-amplified and the 1 MKII aren’t.

Can someone verify this information?

Thank you very much!

Here for the gear

Hi,
yes, the same - beside the fact that the later 100's have biwiring terminals.

i also have the 1's, basically since 1 hour, found them cheap and had to replace the surroundings. Not bad, but for everyday (longtime) listening, i prefer my response 1s.
(Crossover - i see much potential by replacing it, something like
Studio-101
or just use better caps & resistors in the existing design)
