There just generic MXL mics, nothing worth having in my opinion and I would stay away from them, as the one you are looking at is USB.

I went ahead and took the plunge and purchased one of these. Here's the website. Viking Condenser Microphones I purchased the v-67 and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a super experienced audio guy or anything but I use a usb xlr interface with phantom power and have tried several condenser microphones for my podcast. This viking microphone definitely sounds the best out of any of the sub 100 dollar microphones I've purchased, very little noise, and it's fairly warm and vocal friendly.

My initial impressions of a Viking USB mic

As a long-time radio host (WSIM-FM, WJRB-AM, and NPR WCVE-FM), I've used many different spoken-word microphones. As a road manager, I've been around sound reinforcement often as well. And currently as an interviewer, corporate voiceover artist, and fledgling video- and podcaster, I'm always looking for that setup that captures voice as it is--not just sound waves but also the emotional resonance that been vibration and bone and resonant memory.

Though surrounded by sound, I've never been a deep gear head. The upside is that I do have friends; the down side is I've bought far more gear unnecessarily in that search for the Perfect Microphone.

I think I've found it...at least for me.

I've tried several "podcast-y" mics bight from the Apple Store or Best Buy or Jammy's Online Audio Megastore (not a real place, but you get the idea). Yet I've never been completely satisfied. Instead, I "satisfice"--I reach that point of "Oh well, I guess this is as good as it can get." However, I'd moved away from a set studio and toward a mobile context. I do interviews and voiceovers from my MacBook Air, so I need USB input.

Having seen Viking Microphones on Facebook and other socMed outlets, I loved the bold approach to design. At once both vintage and futuristic, the design fits what I was looking for in that respect as well.

Viking's new USB condenser mic hits high marks in several columns for me: it's accurate, it's consistent, and it's easy to get great sound out of. I appreciate that it helps me sound like what I sound like--it reproduces my voice accurately without requiring a lot of postprocessing.

I also sing some blues (mostly badly...except perhaps for Muddy in G ) and bang away on a couple of resophonic guitars--for my own amusement and edification. Yet as I improve, I've begun recording some snippets. The Viking microphone delivers (frankly, beyond my musical capabilities). I'll post some samples on Youtube later this summer as work permits.

Honestly, I'm pretty astounded that this mic can provide such transformative sound input at such a great price.

Well done, Viking!

Looks like they're offering a tube mic for $199 US on Ebay right now.
They look to be the same mic as the Apex 460 at a fairly appealing price but I have no way of confirming that.
Headbasket looks more closed so it might change the sound or something (idk man, I'm not Kidvybes)
If anyone gets more info let us know, these could be interesting to play around with for relatively little money.

Those replies do seem pretty sus though
