MOTU HD192

From the AES journal -

HD192 - The new HD192 interface delivers twelve channels of superb analog
recording and playback at any standard sample rate from 44.1 to 192kHz - with 20 segment level meters worthy of a high definition interface. Add more
HD192's, or any other MOTU interface, and route inputs to outputs in a
flexible, seamless system. Computer buffer latency while monitoring is a thing
of the past thanks to the PCI-424's DSP-driven CueMix engine.

It supposedly has the same converters as "another popular HD interface" and costs less than the present 1296 core and expansion units that it replaces. Now that DP3.1 has fixed the 24 bit OMF file transfer bug, I'll be interested to see how long it takes Digi to put out an update that breaks it again. Can't imagine they want MOTU systems to be more compatible with PT HD than their own PT LE offerings, and I doubt they'll upgrade LE to make it in any way competitive with HD.
Apparently, DP3.1 is 192k capable, though it may take third party MAS developers a little while to catch up. Don't know if the PCI-324 is 192k capable or not.
There's also an interface shown called the 24 I/O, which has 96k, cuemixDSP, ADAT sync, WORD sync and SMPTE sync logos on the front panel.

Don't know when..
Price will be less than the 1296 is currently, by $5 or $500 we don't know..
I gather it's the same converter set that's used in the PT HD 192 I/O box.
New info from Sweetwater says it will include mic pres on all 12 ins. I could've done without that, but as long as you can switch them out of the path I can't complain.

"I gather it's the same converter set that's used in the PT HD 192 I/O box."

right that is what I thought it was reffering to but I still say what does that mean? Are they saying they use a similar chip that digi uses so their a/d is the same? I am not a technician but from what I read about the design of a/d's and the HD alot more goes into it than that...

Can you take the pre's out of the path on any of the MOTU interfaces? I don't think so... but I could be wrong.
