Simple inexpensive splitter box..

Hi there I'm planning on recording some guitar parts and would like to mic the amp and send the signal through a preamp.
Can someone recommend a decent inexpensive guitar signal splitter.
Cheers and kind regards

If the guitar is active, or you can use a pedal (compressor, eq, etc.) in front of the split, all you need is a splitter cable or passive splitter box.

If the guitar is passive and you don't want to use a pedal, you will need an active splitter, or it will change the tone of the guitar

I like the Whirlwind Selector, A/B or both and I can't hear a difference between direct tone.
It's active.

I have a Morley ABY, it works just fine. A or B, or A and B selections. Passive, uses battery, or mains, for the lights only. Metal construction. Doesn't change the sound of any of my guitars or bass, the bass is active guitars are passive.

I think what you want is DI box, one jack to the amp, mix jack to the preampo. Pretty basic.
