I used a GT for a long time. It's actually quite good for live stuff.

The EQ had some noise issues - you had to balance the digital noise of the filter and the tonal balance you were after. You probably want a buffer in front of it to keep the level high too (I used a Shure wireless system for this....).

For a recording session, you can probably do better with plug-ins these days.
