Yes, you can insert the DAW on sends, it just takes a few steps. There are a few ways to go about this depending on your needs, but I will explain how this could be done for 4 FX sends.
You could use mix buses 9-12 on the X32 for your DAW FX sends. These are assigned to analog outs 9-12 by default. Go the “card out” page of the ROUTING menu and change the first bank of outputs to “Out 9-16”. Now, mix buses 9-12 will be sent to inputs 1-4 on the DAW. Now on the “home” page of the ROUTING menu, choose "Card 1-4" for the Aux 1-4 inputs (last column). Now the first 4 outputs from the DAW will appear on the X32 at AUX 1-4. Finally, select a bus and insert the appropriate AUX using the “config” page of the channel strip.
