Again, the reason NS10's are still used (hated and loved) by so much people is that they are very revealing. Also, due to their closed design, the transient response is much more accurate than other speakers, something the HS80's do NOT have.
I fell like Yamaha designed this speakers (with white cone and all) so people associate them with the, at this point in time, legendary NS10's. But they are NOT the same, they are not even in the same ballpark.
I didn't buy them cause i associate them with the NS10, i bought them cause i liked them. I wouldn't have even listened to them if it wasn't for all the stuff about them online.
I'd love to hear some NS10s for comparisons sake.
