You're for a closed ecosystem? I couldn't think of anything worse.
App store may be cool for some things, but I'm certain developers would prefer not to have to pay Apple a cut of their software sales.
Also, Apple based systems are quite proprietary as is. I'd hate for it to get worse. This is a computer we're talking about.
Also, how is it going to prevent piracy? How is it harder to use cracked software? In reality, Apple software is the easiest to pirate as it's just a simple serial number to authorise. What's stopping someone grabbing the app from the App store and throwing it on a torrent site?
