To me, it's all about the usage and the needs of a musician may it be buying Access Virus, Alchemy, Sylenth1 etc. Good advise is always better hence helping others to make buying decisions.

You are DEAD WRONG!!!! Anyone who does not use ALCHEMY is an IDIOT!!! And you dare compare TI with Alchemy, Blasphemy I say !
Blasphemy!
On a serious note, there is no doubt that spec wise alchemy is far superior when compared to TI. But there is a big BUT!!!
Alchemy is great for ambient / cinematic/ soundtrack genres, sure, however the community has being crying for good dance / rythmic sounds. Unfortunately, even though there are some add ons, they dont even begin to compare with available trance/techno/etc sounds for VIRUS .
Even if you are not a preset person, having in front of you a real hardware surface, can never be beaten, and you get alot more than just a hardware surface, the audio quality of virus is top notch.
Another thing Alchemy is missing totally is FM, one more thing to take into consideration before getting it.
The question arises why not get both, Alchemy costs close to 200 and it may be found half of that price second hand. Problem solved.
And to correct you , I never said I want to get Snow, I said I am deep in love with TI POLAR. If I had the money, I would not mind getting it right now, together with a modular and a KORG KRONOS. But alas, money is low right now.
PErsonally, I looooooove alchemy, it can resynthesize any sound, make it sound exactly the same, and it can do wonders on the sound, but i still reach alot for my andromeda, not because of sound quality mainly because twisting real knobs is always far more fun. Saying that, i do have a bcr2000 connected to my alchemy, with 32 knobs all assigned, but still most of the deep functionality of alchemy requires a mouse.
I wont be the one to discourage from getting a real synth, when real synths is still what I use most of the time.
By the way if anyone doubts that Alchemy can sound analogue or anything you like, I have several andromeda resynthesized sounds that sound exactly the same, if anyone want to hear the facts.
I have attached a little test, where an actual piano plays together with a resynthesized sample of a piano by alchemy, can you spot the real deal?

I use the same technique to resynthsize some of my andromeda sounds, with Alchemy its very easy to do minor edits to a sound that already works for you but it has the potential to be better. You could do the same with a real virus, use virus when you get the result you want eaqsier and faster and use alchemy for minor edits. Edit a partial here, do abit of modulation there, maybe layer it with another onboard alchemy sound, it works like a charm.
