Yes sorry you are right it has

52bit mantissa 1 sign bit and 11 bit exponent

Excuse my addled brain and hasty typing - I was just thinking in terms of 32bit sorry. It doesn't change the fact that 48bit fixed is perfectly adequate for 24bit audio dynamic range.
