The WinRT MIDI 1.0 API uses the same underlying MIDI 1.0 drivers as WinMM "Windows MIDI" does.

Under Windows MIDI Services, they are both replumbed to talk to the new service instead of directly to drivers. DirectMusic is not changed, and will not talk to the service or the new combined MIDI 1.0/MIDI 2.0 driver.

(Note: This thread is about Windows MIDI Services, which is the new Service and API currently in testing in our Windows Insider builds, so this thread is all about the future.)
