Hey everyone,
I'm having a strange issue with my Soundcraft Signature 22 MTK on macOS (M1 chip) that appeared suddenly.
I was using the mixer/interface in Ableton Live 11, when macOS unexpectedly activated "Voice Isolation" / Mic Mode — and since then, the interface is no longer working properly.
Here’s what’s happening:
- macOS doesn’t recognize the mixer properly anymore (not listed in Audio MIDI Setup or Ableton).
- Internal FX are disabled.
- Master vu-meters show constant signal on FX channels, even with nothing plugged in.
- When I unplug the USB cable, the mixer works normally again.
I suspect the console has been forced into some sort of "USB Mic Mode" / basic class-compliant mode, and it's no longer functioning as a multichannel interface.
What I’ve tried:
- Booted the Mac in Safe Mode
- Disabled all microphone permissions + Voice Isolation in system settings
- Cleaned CoreAudio via Terminal
- Tried multiple cables and ports (including powered USB hub)
- Fully powered down the mixer and waited before restart
- Uninstalled TR-8S drivers (that caused a similar issue earlier)
Log shows:
AppleUSBIORequest::complete: device 7 (Soundcraft Signature 22 MTK@00142000) endpoint 0x00: status 0xe00002ed (transaction error): 0 bytes transferred.
I'm trying to find out if there's:
- A way to force the mixer back into its proper USB multitrack mode
- A factory reset or firmware flash option
Any known macOS workaround to avoid this “USB mic hijack” behavior?
I’ve also contacted Soundcraft/Harman and Apple Support, but I’d love to hear from anyone here who's experienced something similar — or has a fix.
Thanks in advance!
