For quick, broad shaping I think it's fantastic. And the sound -- musical, and it's not Neve.
Use -- I've been using it on guitar/bass DI, amp sims, electronic/synths. It has a lively mid presence similar to API with a broader Q to my ears, and I prefer Aubergine's 8/12k shelf to anything in Pink. Aubergine seems to be an "ITB buster" that brings life to samples, cold digital sources etc.
And the saturator is tops.
Totally. But that's why I like it too. I have Lime and Sand for mixing and Green or Scarlet or Crave2 for faux mastering.
Good stuff on the preset recommendations, I will try those soon.
Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it. Agreed, the saturator is special. I'll have a play with it since I mostly make electronic music and a lot of my sound sources are obivously synths and samples
