drums/cymbal kits are first and foremost about the room, its (acoustic) design and behaviour, the heads, the tuning, the mic setup/approach and of course the drummer's technique and touch.

which specific models someone's then using to record imo is largely irrelevant/almost entirely a matter of habit/preference/taste.
