Coffee brewing is a magical trip and art based on knowledge and experience and not necessarily on expensive machines.
Another very important factor in brewing a good cup is the temperature of the water during the brewing cycle. Too hot or too cold can make the taste acidic. A machine that has variable temps as an option can really improve the taste of your coffee.
I grind my own beans and my grinder has a large selection for the type of ground needed for the specific machine to be used.
