The 80xx series is quite nice, true workhorse monitors. As someone here mentioned earlier, can be a bit too detailed and make you work more than you should, but there's always various factors involved, mostly boiling down to the interaction of your room with the speakers. They work better in some rooms, worse in others. I'm glad to hear they're working well for you.
With this said, 8010s are very small and can sound a bit "packed" and somewhat nasal, which is why I personally prefer bigger woofers/boxes for studio use.
Regarding them being too loud for you, I had a similar problem and got this:
