For anyone on PT on a modest budget, I can really recommend these controllers; the Artist Mix can be gotten really cheap (like $400 or less), and the UC1 is just fantastic. And running the Eucon protocol is so perfect w/PT.

The combination of a DAW controller and a plugin controller is the clue, I think. Lets me mix without staring at the screen so much. Helps me focus on what I'm hearing.
