There's not only that but the old GUI had values on the interface which gave you at a glance information, as well as parameters in particular positions so you know exactly where things are based on muscle memory from decades of using these plugins.

I'm not sure why there is a trend these days to give things a new coat of paint and dumb it down at the expense of usability and speed. I would have hoped Waves would have provided the older interfaces like they did with other plugins but I can't find them.
