From the homepage: " If an instrument is plugged into the instrument input, mic input 2 is deactivated." This normally is relay-based and goes both ways. Meaning, if no instrument is plugged in to the Hi-Z Input, it is physically switched off, so the Mic-Input won't even "see" it.
