Right - I also noticed the "rugged German Engineering" but no mention of the CoO. I just get suspicious when the marketing team avoids mentioning it clearly these days. The price would indicate cheaper cost compared to the "legacy" 421-II but it could be a more efficient, automated process, less hand labour, maybe a very different mic altogether bearing the same model #. Not enough info at this point so all we can do is speculate. Maybe someone will buy one and will look for the "Made In" label, on the box or product itself. The user guide shows "printed in Germany" but it doesn't tell us where the mic is made.
