I mentioned this before, but a mastering engineer I work with told me that while the BUS+ offers a wide variety of sound options, it has a small sweet spot, which means that once you've set it up, even a slight change in threshold or input level can result in rather significant alteration in sound compared to traditional SSL comps. This probably makes it well suited for creative engineers who like to actively adjust bus compressor settings while working on a mix. However, it might not be ideal for commercial engineers who prefer to insert all mix bus processors and then start mixing without making many adjustments afterward, which is the more common approach today.
