I'm extremely impressed by Logic 11's new stem splitter. SpectraLayers 11 smokes the other contenders in almost all examples in my opinion, but Logic Pro is a close second most of the time, and, surprisingly, I find it almost always a lot better than RX 11. Acoustica 7.5 performs the least well of the bunch on most examples.
I don't personally have a ton of use for stem splitting, but it is incredible that you get a stem splitter of this high quality for free in Logic Pro 11.
I'm also very unimpressed by iZotope. I think RX is mostly riding on its reputation at this point, but for most of its functionality there are other tools that work noticeably better.
it's great there's a stem splitter built in, and the new Logic one is solid.
has anyone explored the legal situation when it comes to using a sample from a stem that's been split?
would be interested to know how it changes the landscape.
