Late to the party by a few years but I just picked up BRICKWALL HD and MASTER X HD in a bundle on sale from TC. Brickwall is great, it tends to break apart the signal at high GR and lacks the flexibility of the some of the modern great digital limiters, however when its only working on a couple db at a time its extremely transparent and retains transients better than most limiters. I find the adaptive release algorithm to be unique, I can see myself using it on out of control dynamic material like a drum bus, room mics, or high hats. Soft clip is a nice touch as well, I'd probably reach for one my dedicated clipping plugins first but it does have a nice weight to it.
Master X was a little disappointing. It definitely has a clean sound and I like the compression action but I wish there were more bands and more flexibility per band. You can use it as a simple tone shaper and a 3 band compressor/limiter to get the material glued together in a pleasant way but you really cant isolate the action like you'd want to. This workflow is better fit for single sources rather than buses and full mixes.
I think both of these tools are very unique in implementation and are good despite their shortcomings. I'll definitely be using Brickwall HD often.

I've ever used, pumpy, mushy, etc. No where near the same universe as Limitless, Ozone or Fabfilter. It was like a time machine ride back to 2003.
LMAO nah this is a reach. I wouldn't judge it by how it behaves when you push it hard. If that's the case I'd only stick to the one limiter that can handle large amount of reduction the best.
