I nearly pulled the trigger on the Neve 88M but I need clean i/o for a mix bus chain, and would have liked another headphone amplifier. The Neumann was another option, but I really like recording guitars through something with transformers (Neve/Phoenix) so I have decided against it. Believe me, I have tried the clean route, and I just prefer getting things in the ballpark at source.
I want one (smallish) box, with two transformer coupled pre-amps, inserts, ADAT expandability and two additional i/o ports for a mix bus. This i73 Pro Edge thing is close enough that I think I'll just pull the trigger and try their DSP.
Sounds like a plan for what you are after. At the risk of pissing on a perfectly good shopping expedition, I'd say we might all want to wait to learn more about their DSP plugins and the experience working with it all. My guess is these guys are likely going to know how to do this, but it's alway good to at least see some demonstration proving how the operation works. It seriously looks very similar in setup to UAD's Console software, so I wonder if they hired someone who was affiliated. But whatever the case may be, I'd like to see some kind of video showing how to use it.
I dig that it's 32 bit works with both Windows and Mac. Looks like a large footprint for a desktop unit.
