Automating fader rides for a full vocal in Logic usually takes me about 30 minutes.
The only thing though is fader rides don't have any coloration and artifacts, which is what of lot of people that use compression want. So if you use Vocal Rider or just automate yourself, you're going to have to find your coloration from another source.
So Vocal Rider should not--in theory--add any coloration to a track. But, of course, theory and practice are often two different things. Does some amount of coloration occur whenever a signal runs through a plugin, whether or not the plugin is intended to color the signal? I've wondered about this for a long, long time. Anyone have informed thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any insights.
