I just got a pair in the mail like...an hour ago. They are amazing sounding. The eq is beautiful and sweet musical. I really like the eq points so far.. The pre is just lovely obviously, it was exactly what I was looking for. I have used them only on kick and OH so far. The mono OH is a Beyer m160, and combined with the 1084, my kit is singing.

I haven't used a real neve, or any vintage pre, and not that many pres in general. My only experience really is with a wa12, isa one, capi vp25, and now these...so take my very limited experience with a grain of salt..but 2 1084s for ~1500 usd? I'm not sure it can be beat tbh.
