Hey GS,
I've looked at many solutions to update my studio to be able to really mix and master correctly in Atmos in professional conditions for music, but also to integrate music in video games.
I'm also looking for tips and tricks obviously, and it seems many things are beginning to move, from Presonus going Atmos to Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3 headsets becoming interesting options...
First problem, and after months of learning about Atmos, I really can't decide on what is better to do :
1) Sell lots of my recording/mixing/mastering hardware to afford a big D-Mon or MC Trinnov and 10 more speakers to go 7.1.4?
Or
2) Simply work my productions/mix/masters in stereo in my room (Trio 6+Trinnov ST2+Merging Anubis+HAPI MKII etc...) then adapt the mix by working with an Apple or Meta headset or even a good headphone (I have an Audeze MM500) +Airpods?
Next question is obviously how do you integrate your Atmos music into Unreal for the best immersiv results ?
Maybe it does depend about the space the player is in a map, and be creative with panning, delays and reverb management accordingly...?
And lastly... Where can I find something about the norms for video games?
Should I treat Atmos mix like post-production work, with the same LUFS etc?
This feels like an exciting new space, and lots of stuff as yet to be discovered! (At least for me!

)
Thank in advance for your help!
