Thanks! This is the kind of answer I was hoping for. Since I don’t have an analogue mixer with such a switch, that stuff was indeed hidden from me.
Now that we have that out the way, what are your key insights regarding how to deal with phase/polarity?
Currently I record with one mic (when I record with a mic, like on an acoustic guitar), in order to minimize potential phase issues (since I don’t yet know how to deal with them).
I will grab a book for sure (thanks for the pointer above Sharp11). Books can be a bit abstract though, so anecdotes and personal approaches would be great to hear about.
