You started this thread with the admission that there is a lot
you don't know. People are giving you advice. Now you are going to get
offended because someone
agrees with you that there is a lot you don't know?
The list of things that
you are calling "hidden" are not all thought of as "hidden" by others. And of course they only include your known unknowns. They are mysteries to
you, but not to someone else. Other things you might know well, but are mysterious to other people - which I also stated in my first post.
There is no such category as "hidden". Everybody's list of what they don't know is different. You are therefore talking about what is hidden from you. Because all this information is out there. None of it is secret, or suppressed, or even hard to find. OTOH, nobody knows exactly what you are 'missing'. As for sorting through it, separating the gold from the dross, I (for example) have tried to point you away from falling for myths and marketing, and apparently you don't like that either. Yet that is my perspective.

And yes, I am asking (partially) about "actual audio basic knowledge and best practices". That's in the original post. I asked about how people came to that knowledge and what the best practices are. That was the question, to a large extent. Is there something wrong with that?
Did I
say there was something wrong with that? There
is something wrong with taking umbrage where no offense was given, something wrong with biting the hand that feeds you, but right now is the first time I am saying that.

to have something like an inventory of the things that go into the foundation,
And what I am saying is there is simply too much to summarize in a bunch of posts in a thread. You may not want to hear that, but I am sincere in saying it. Have you read through the entire 6,500 posts of the other thread? I suggested you take a course. That is still my most sincere and best advice. Take it or don't. If my saying you need to take a class
offends you, I don't know else what to say.
Over and out.
