At this point I’m more in the second camp. When I was younger it was all about getting it recorded and try to get people to listen.
Now I’m more into it as an art. Not just recording, the whole process of making a well-sounding piece of music. The expression needs to be there, the idea, the individuality etc. But as many painters eventually get into color theory and paint formulas and art history, well that’s where I am with sound now. I really enjoy learning, especially from others who’ve done this a lot. I’m not looking for a check-list as such, if I had one I would probably ”break” the rules.
