Hey Polybonk
So yes it is a true hardwire bypass, so taking the unit completely out of the loop. Also, the custom lundahl transformers were designed, amongst other things, to give the
least color to the signal, as I know a lot of Mastering studios already have many transformers in the signal path.
And that "little color" was also possible by making it with a big Mu metal core, and so it has 30DB of headroom at 1khz
(1% thd at 50hz at +28dbu).
They are expensive and amazing audio transformers, I'm really delighted with them
There is no volume loss with 1954, the first of it's kind for a fully passive Eq.
But as there is no active stage, one must respect the "right" input & output impedance.
Now, you don't need to worry to much about this either as I designed it to work with almost ALL of the usual suspects that are used in Mastering studios. So gears that has 10kohms or more at the input, and 600ohms or less at the output.
So if you feed it to an old tube device with the old 600ohms input & output impedance standard, you will be in trouble...
But otherwise almost all of the gear we use today have the High input Impedance / low output impedance configuration.
There are two trimmers at the front & 2 volume pots at the back to make up for any small volume change which may occur.
I really try to designed it so that it could work in the most situation possible ♥

so is it true bypass or does the transformer interact with upstream/downstream gear?
What is the headroom like? Does it change when you feed it different levels?
