I’m sure I’ve posted in this thread before, but the X Touch is a great DAW controller. It’s not perfect, but it does all the basic stuff you would expect pretty well. I enjoyed using one (with the Extender) for 4 years with Logic Pro.
The only reasons to avoid IMO is….
If the design doesn’t work for you. It is a bit bulky (I took the side panels off, so the two units could sit flush together).
The feel of the faders are adequate, but could be improved and are definitely better on the SSL UF8 (which is what I use now).
The pan knobs are implemented in an annoying way, with how they interact with the display. You have to select the pan option to use it, but then the pan values (instead of the volume) permanently take over the display.
I think the ICON Digital controllers are generally better looking, although no better quality or implementation.
It occasionally seemed to forget any customised settings, typically after crashes on Logic.
However, all the above are quite minor and the pros outweigh the cons.
I now use the SSL UF8, whilst missing some of the X Touch features (which I don’t actually miss) is a much higher quality controller.
