You'll probably not want to ditch your preamps. The Audient ones are good for built in pres, very clean, low noise. But I have a hard time believing they'd outshine your ISA, and they certainly won't give you any character like your GAP73. Depending on what you're upgrading from, the Audient stuff will probably give you better sounding conversion (both A/D and D/A), and probably a better headphone amp. I find the DAC on the Audient stuff to sound a bit "metallic" in the high end, can be fatiguing after long sessions if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, but they do sound good.
I’m coming from a MOTU M4 and I’m perfectly happy with it aside from the lack of a second headphone output (which the Sono doesn’t have either).
I do have an old ProFire 2626 that I’m trying to sell, but the Sono would probably make me keep it to use with tye ADAT input. Not that I ever record more than one instrument at a time in my home studio. But never say never.
