I'm starting to think that it might not be the solution I'm wating for. The cabel is on the right side, which is really annoying when you mostly use your right arm. I wonder if that is not already enough to sort them out for daily use.
Strange decission. Does anyone see a benefit with this solution that I don't see?
I’ve got the closed back ones. Fair warning, the cable and adapter situation is frustrating. The 1/4 adapter broke on my pair. I’ve got at least 5 different adapters from different name brands, none of them would stay on the end of the Neumann cables. For some reason, the snap on ones I had would not stay on, who knows why that is as they work on every other pair of headphones I have. The threads on the Neumann cables will not thread on any of the thread on adapters I have.
Neumann, in essence, has managed to make something as common as an 1/8 cable end, completely proprietary for their system. I had Sweetwater contact Neumann about buying their adapter, and Neumann said they don’t sell the adapter separately. I would have to buy a WHOLE new cable from them with the adapter on it (which is $40). So now, I have two different cables that came from Neumann with the headphones that are worthless because a simple snap on adapter will not stay on. Their response is to buy a third cable so I can have an adapter. Pretty dumb…
I reached out to Neumann a few different ways on social media and got not response. So fair warning, DON’T loose or break the Neumann 1/4 adapter as it’s basically worth a lot more than it’s weight in gold

. That drama aside, my other complaint is that the Neumann cables are hellishly microphonic when it bumps up against a mic stand or anything else. If the cable so much as lightly taps something, you feel it in your skull. I would highly recommend going third party and grabbing one of these, it’s much better and works with normal human made 1/4 adapters (and not microphonics):

As for the cable being on the right side, just turn them around when you’re tracking? That’s what I do, because it annoys me when I have to play guitar.
