Was overjoyed to see this project; had been trying in vain to get my old MIDISport 2x2 working with a 2015 MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.3.1. Stop the presses, never mind. One of the issues I saw reported on this project's GitHub site (
https://github.com/leighsmith/midisport-macos/issues/31 ) clued me in to a surprising and extremely low-tech solution -- you may have to plug / unplug the MIDIsport into your computer's USB port several times. I gave it a try and to my absolute amazement, after a few plugs/unplugs/replugs, the "USB" indicator on my MIDISport lit up. I've got it working now, driving external synth gear just like old times.
