While the Beamer isn't the first mic amp I'd reach for with a stereo pair of mics, it can deliver a good range of similar to virtually indiscernible results by ear without too much trouble to be honest.. the topologies and gain structure (?) are different so it's more work to set, but I wouldn't worry about that sonically at all. I've put OH into it before..
I suspect that much of the conversation around mic pre pixie dust is largely exaggerated, though I reserve the right to change my mind until I've heard a perfect pair of v76. Get amps with the gain & features you want, wire it up, and get busy I say
