Have not tried it on vocals yet, amazingly, but don't do vocals much in my studio. I have the Forssell and they are completely different designs (apples and oranges). If you want to tame peaks, increase the RMS, and add some color, the Creamer+ is great for that, although I don't like it with my R84 ribbons (imparts a color I don't like with that mic for some reason).
The Forssell is a transistor FET design that is cleaner but slightly "thicker" than other solid state preamps I've used. Contrary to what many might think, it still can be pushed with enough external padding for some transparent "compression." Depends on your goals. If you're looking for more transparency/closer to "wire with gain," the Forssell is better for that.
The above are an example of two preamps that are relatively easy to discern, but still subtle if not pushed.
