Thanks for your redundant reply. I do not know the exact intent of the designer, however I am sure his first reason was to create something that sounded good to him, with the best components available at the time.
I own the full range of A/B models 1081 and 1084, as well as a pair of original 1073s.
I am well aware of their amp classification and how they work.
