Actually, let me finish that sentence--Its been 20 years since I had a friend that had any interest in synthesizers. Back then I did give a friend a Alesis Quadrasynth. I got it for $80 from a pawn shop because they thought it was broken. The problem was it had digital out, and was set to clock with the wordclock input. But with no clock at the input, it just made a lot of weird sounds. I didn't really care for it so I gave it to my friend.
