I tested it against rooster the other day and as much as I admire Fuse/Rooster I gel with this one much more.
I think they both are different beast. At first I just listened and tested by itself and automatically loved the saturation.
I then tested with the many Pultec plugins I have to see which one I love.
Blackrooster has a more detailed saturation and cleaner output but I like the way this one fattens the sound. To me, they are just totally different. What I do like is the cpu usage which I have mentioned to BRA many times that they need to get that down. This plugin only uses 2% to 3% on my cpu. Great job. BRA uses 7% to 9%.
Didn't test it against Softube cause well, let's be honest, Softube doesn't have saturation but the plugin sounds clean in the EQ area.
I did test it to my Lindell 6x 500 (One of my fav's for that Pultec sound) again a different beast but the 6x has this thump that no other plugin has in the saturation so before you even EQ, you have this out front sound. Then you start EQ'ing and it's just magic. Anyway, the 6x just sounded beefier to me but again totally different beast.
I did try it against the Waves but that was a waist of time in the saturation department cause it doesn't have saturation but it does have a really nice clean EQ like the Softube one.
I may pick this up just because it's different. The Saturation is dirty just the way I like it. It does mushy and fuzzy up the sound which I'm fine with when I looking for that. I see they make other plugins too. Never heard of this company. I may try their other ones as well.
