Thinking about getting it for free to me is just funny. If they are about to give it for free, why do they announce it as a new plugin? It is announced as a new plugin somehow. Not an update it is new new as in new.
When people purchased the current E channel is was not considered a legacy version. Us unwashed masses knew it as the only E channel that PA had. And it's not the compressor that's getting the fix as much as it is the upper end eq's.
The Scheps Omni channel is a poor strip at best and nowheres near the quality or capability of the current SSL and Neve strips PA has. If you think the Scheps is all that and a bag of chips - please pass along whatever it is you're smoking. We could all sue a good toke or two.
