Approaches to EQ in the old days

G'day Geoff,

Can you tell us a little about approaches to EQ back in the 60's? With plugins, these days, it could be argued that it's all too easy to go down the rabbit hole sweeping the spectrum with a sharp Q searching for 'rogue/ bad sounding' frequencies of a given source...and notching out all over the place. The more you sweep around, the more you think you find.

Was EQ something that was pretty straight forward in the early days?
