Well one is a 4 way (yes 3 way but dual woofer) and the other is a 3 way so not exactly comparable.

Whilst I haven't heard the Type-30s, I'm not a an of ported designs anymore. Been listening to more and more sealed cabinets and have just fallen in love with how much tighter the bottom end is.

I'm sure the Type-30s are great sounding monitors and I'd love to hear a pair, but to say they 'crush' the KH310s is probably a bit of a stretch.

As always, rooms and personal tastes always play into these things.
